The course content aims to develop listening and speaking skills. topics studied include personal information, food, drink, travel, shopping and accommodation. ABC Practical Languages Entry Level 3 accreditation. Progression to Stage 1B.

The course covers a wide range of speaking and listening, reading and writing activities. A variety of literature is studied, ranging from Shakespeare to poetry and prose written before and during this century. The course is divided into 40% coursework of which 20% is speaking and listening and 20% is reading and writing and 60% final examination. A pre-release booklet , which is to be used in the final examination contains articles in two sections: media texts and non-fiction texts and poetry from other cultures and traditions.- Teacher: Terry Hanson
GCSE English is vital for progression onto many further and higher education programmes, vocational and academic. The programme consists of written and oral coursework and an end of year exam. We study a variety of English Language, Poetry and Prose. Enrolment dependent on diagnostic assessment.- This level is suitable for individuals who have recently completed introductory course / Futures or have little knowledge of the language. - This level is suitable for individuals who have recently completed Stage 1 or have good knowledge of the language at basic level. The course content aims to develop listening and speaking skills. Topics studied are similar to those at Stage 1, but covered in more depth. ABC Practical Languages Level 1 accreditation. Progression to Stage 3A.
- This level is suitable for individuals who have recently completed Stage 2 or who have a good knowledge of the language and are able to use it to express past, present and future actions. The course content aims to develop listening and speaking skills. Topics studied include dealing with problems, travel and accommodation. ABC Practical Languages Level 2 accreditation. Progression to Stage 3B.
